Eco-Schools Update

Back in September, our eco-committee entered the council's "Name a Food Waste Truck" competition. This was to promote the new food waste recycling scheme in West Berkshire. Iris and Amelia were both winners and not only will they receive a £20 book token and a family swim voucher each, they have also had their suggested names printed on 2 of the food waste trucks. Make sure you keep a look out for Betty Banana (who visited us in school on Wednesday) and Eva Eggshell. They will be collecting food waste around West Berkshire from Monday 31st October.

In our most recent Eco-Committee meeting, we went through the Environmental Review and chose our 3 topics for this academic year. We have chosen to cover Biodiversity, Marine and Transport. Classes spent the following Eco Assembly generating ideas for the actions that we could take for these 3 topics. We have also asked staff and parents/carers to contribute ideas. After half term, the committee will meet again to review these ideas and choose the actions they wish to take.
