On Thursday 4th March, it is World Book Day! This year we will be sending home virtual voucher codes instead of the paper £1 vouchers. We are really keen to celebrate this day both with the children in school and at home. With that in mind, Thursday 4th March will be a non-curriculum day, where each year group will spend the day taking part in exciting activities linked to reading and books. These activities will be added to the home learning plan so that children learning from home and school can all be involved. We also have some new book-based activities on our Crafts and Activites website page that you may wish to look at.
On World Book Day, we will also have an additional Zoom session for the children at home and school, where your teacher will share their favourite book/extract. The additional Zoom codes for the year groups can be found on the home learning documents on our website. The timings will be the same time as the Monday Zooms. They are as follows:
Foundation Stage 11-11.30am Year 1 10.30-11am Year 2 11.30-12pm Year 3 1.30-2.00pm Year 4 10.00-10.30am Year 5 2.30-3.00pm Year 6 12-12.30pm
Our Partnership staff are also working on making some fun, reading-inspired videos which will include tasks for the children to complete. Further details next week.
The World Book Day website also has lots of fun, free digital events planned. On Weds 3rd March, Thurs 4th March and Friday 5th March, there will be live 30 minute YouTube sessions with a range of authors and illustrators.
