This week in Henwick class, we have experimented with real electric circuits⚡️. We used cells, switches and more. We first carefully picked up the red wires. Soon after, we used the crocodile clips to join the circuit together. In my group, it did not work on the first try. ☹️ We soon realised that you had to add the cell to power the circuit. After, we tried again, and were very pleased that we were successful.
On Thursday, we watched a brilliant, cool film with all of the Year 4 classes. It was called The Railway Children, by Edith Nesbit. Here were the key events:
It is a story about 3 children.
They move from London to Yorkshire because their father has been put in prison.
Their house is near a railway.
They make friends with a man who gets the train every day.
This man manages to help them free their Dad from prison.
This week we have continued adding and subtracting. We did mostly column subtraction. It was so fun.
We are continuing to learn about the gunpowder plot and Guy Fawkes too. It is very busy in Year 4!
