Lights, Camel, Action!

November 3, 2017

This week we found out which part we were in our year 4 production of Lights, Camel, Action.

Some people had to Audition and say a speaking part that they have learnt.

We have already started to rehearse the play and we are soooooo excited to show the parents!!!!

The characters are:

Angels (Ballet).                                                                                                                  Judges

floor people (hold up signs)                                                                                            naughty sheep.                                                    shepherds                                                                                                                         Disco star

light people                                                                                                                        music people.

In English we have been learning about the sound collector by Roger Mcgough, it goes like this...

A stranger called this morning
Dressed all in black and grey
Put every sound into a bag
And carried them away

The whistling of the kettle
The turning of the lock
The purring of the kitten
The ticking of the clock

The popping of the toaster
The crunching of the flakes
When you spread the marmalade
The scraping noise it makes

The hissing of the frying pan
The ticking of the grill
The bubbling of the bathtub
As it starts to fill

The drumming of the raindrops
On the windowpane
When you do the washing-up
The gurgle of the drain

The crying of the baby
The squeaking of the chair
The swishing of the curtain
The creaking of the stair

A stranger called this morning
He didn't leave his name
Left us only silence
Life will never be the same

We have been using instruments to make the noises and some of us used our mouths because we couldn’t find an instrument that matched the sound.

We walked around the school in groups and listened carefully for sounds. Some of us got 20 different sounds! We could hear: An Aeroplane, a phone ringing, birds tweeting, wind in the trees, keyboards typing and lots more.
