This year, we will be taking part in Sport Relief 2018! Yippee! This fabulous annual fundraising event aims to bring the entire nation together to get active, raise money and change lives.
Children across our Partnership will be completing the Mile Challenge between Monday 19th – Friday 23rd March. This will take place on the Junior field during PE lessons. Every child will be given the option to run or walk between one and three miles, in order to raise money for Sport Relief. At the Infant School, we aim to travel enough miles to get us from Reading to Exeter – that’s a total of 197 miles! At the Juniors, we aim to travel enough miles to get us from Newbury to Edinburgh – a total of 391 miles!
Separate sponsorship pages have been set up online for each School. To sponsor a child in the Infants, please go to our Parsons Down Infant School Sport Relief Giving Page. To sponsor a child in the Junior School, go to our Parsons Down Junior School Sport Relief Giving Page. If you would like to donate but are not able to do so online, please collect a paper form from the Junior Reception. The deadline for donations is Thursday 30th March.
The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries. To learn more about how Comic Relief spends the money raised for Sport Relief please visit the Sport Relief Website.
We will also be using Sport Relief as a teaching opportunity so that the children can learn about the issues other children across the world face, and how the money we raise can help them.
We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping our school raise lots of money for Sport Relief!
