“I love Minstead”
“These are the best sausages I’ve ever eaten”
Above are a few quotes to sum up our first day at Minstead. We’ve had a ball. We started the day exploring the New Forest and we learnt about how to track animals by looking for their poo and their tracks. We learnt more about the origins of the forest and it’s history.
We then had a quick picnic lunch before moving onto the main event...Minstead!
Hopefully you’ve seen the photos of us in our dorms from our first blog. After unpacking, it was time to get back into the forest and we explored puddles, mud, tracks and paths. We saw some horses and donkeys before really getting stuck into the mud in a big way. Maisie and Austin win that prize.
Back home in time for tea. Very impressive table manners and healthy appetites with everyone willing to try new foods and enjoying the home cooked meal made dinner a pleasure.
We then found out more about our new Minstead names, made our earthbooks and lanterns before heading up to the hut for stories around the fire.
Sleep well. We’re all fine. We’re now all in bed and trying really hard to get to sleep 🛏 😴 so the teachers can swap photos and update the blog further.
