Our Year 5 trip to the Thatcham Lakes was a great success. The children enjoyed: making maps of the lakes, thinking about the different features, creating wild art in the form of sketching, building wild mobiles, constructing dens of all sizes with different accessories, hunting for geocaches and much more. We used our senses at all times and discovered names for different types of birds, which we then spotted on the lake as we walked around. The children navigated with a compass and discussed how the sun can help us with our directions.
Many thanks to the parent helpers that gave up their time to join us on our day out in the wild! The children loved it (the adults did too).
