Eco-Committee Meeting

Today, in our Eco-Schools meeting, we talked about the bulbs we planted on the roundabout back in November. They are starting to come through and hopefully it won't be long until we have lots of lovely flowers! Great for pollinators and also to remind us spring is on the way!

Mrs B joined us for the meeting and she talked to the councillors about the upcycled planters she commissioned to go opposite the Pod. These have been filled with peat-free compost and some planting has started already. A number of children have been involved in helping Mrs B plant radishes and beetroot. The plan is to sew more seeds including sugarsnap peas, french beans, carrots and salad leaves. These will provide us with healthy snacks and ingredients for the recipes we make in school.

Work on the PDP recipe book is now underway. We have lots of lovely recipes suggested by staff and parents for our plant-based meals section. Next, we will be looking for ideas for plastic free snacks.
