The Travelling Book Fair will be at Parsons Down between Wednesday 18th March and Wednesday 25th March 2026 from 3:15-3:30. As a school, we get a percentage from the book sales to spend on books. Last year, the money that was raised was used to purchase the new class books. Come and join us for our World Book Day Bake Off Sale, after school this Friday. There will be lots of yummy cakes to buy, as well as second hand books and school uniform.

World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March. Once again, we are collaborating with the PDSA and have organized a World Book Day Bake Off. To enter, bake your favourite book character or find your favourite recipe book and have fun baking together! Entries need to be brought to the school office on Thursday 5th March. Thank you to everyone who supported our NSPCC Number Day. It was so lovely to welcome so many of our PDP community into school to share maths games with the children. It brought maths learning into real life contexts, brought our community together, was fun and raised a fantastic £190 in the process. Thank you!

Thank you to all families who took part in Cut Your Carbon this year. We had 12 children complete the checklist, resulting in 143.71 kgCO2 e of carbon savings. This is roughly equivalent to driving an average car about 350-400 km (around 220-250 miles), powering an average UK home's electricity for 1-2 months or making 14,000 cups of tea! Come join us for the PDSA Christmas Fair, after school on Friday 12th December. The fair will be spread across the hall, Seal Club and The Pod. There will be refreshments, games, gifts and much more! We hope to see you there!

We have launched our first ever Christmas writing competition. Infant pupils can enter by drawing a Christmas picture and labelling it OR write a short Christmas story (up to 300 words). Junior pupils are being challenged to write a short story (up to 500 words). Entries need to be brought in by Friday 12th December. The School Council will be judging the entries.

The PDSA are hosting a pre-loved Christmas Jumper Sale on Friday 5th December, after school. The sale will take place on the playground, near the field. All jumpers will be just £2 each!

In this week’s assemblies, we have been continuing to discuss our OPAL project (Outdoor Play and Learning). The sandpit has been incredibly popular this week and next week we are adding in some new loose parts. It is very muddy and soggy in places.
