Art

Art is taught throughout the partnership using the PlanBee scheme, which provides a creative, progressive and engaging approach to developing pupils’ artistic skills, knowledge and confidence. Through a wide range of projects, children explore different artists, styles, cultures and artistic traditions while developing their ability to draw, paint, print, sculpt and work with a variety of materials and techniques. Pupils are encouraged to experiment with colour, line, shape, texture, pattern and form, developing their creativity and learning to express their own ideas and experiences through art. Lessons provide opportunities for children to observe and respond to the work of artists, evaluate and refine their own work, and develop an understanding of how art can communicate ideas and emotions. As pupils progress through the school, they build on their skills and vocabulary, develop increasing independence and confidence, and learn to appreciate and celebrate their own artwork and the creative achievements of others.

Learn together. Grow together. Succeed together.
