Computing

Computing is taught throughout the partnership using the Purple Mash scheme, which provides a structured and progressive approach to developing pupils’ digital skills, computational thinking and understanding of technology. Through a range of engaging activities, pupils learn about coding, algorithms, digital literacy, multimedia, online communication and the safe and responsible use of technology. Lessons provide opportunities for children to develop practical skills using a variety of digital tools, while encouraging creativity, problem-solving and logical thinking.

E-safety is embedded throughout the curriculum, as well as being given protected time by being taught weekly, to help pupils to understand how to use the internet and digital devices safely, respectfully and responsibly. Children learn about topics such as protecting personal information, recognising inappropriate or harmful content, responding to online risks, maintaining positive digital relationships and knowing where to seek help. As pupils progress through the school, they develop increasing confidence and independence in using technology effectively and safely both in school and in their everyday lives.

Learn together. Grow together. Succeed together.
