Badger Class Minstead Day 2 🌳

After a night of very mixed levels of sleep, we tucked into a hearty breakfast. Towers of toast, bulging bowls of cereal and mountains of melon were consumed in preparation for our full adventure day.

We ventured off in the gorgeous sunshine for a 3 hour walk to fully explore the New Forest. There were some very tired legs but we had so much fun! We were treated to lots of nature and wildlife, including the highly anticipated New Forest ponies. We enjoyed celebrating World Book Day by retelling the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff (thankfully there were no trolls under our bridge) and We're Going on a Bear Hunt whilst walking.

After a well earned picnic lunch break, we were ready for our busy afternoon of activities. We worked together learning how to use a map in orienteering, exploring the food grown in the garden, set up some small mammal traps and cameras to check in the morning and then really put our resilience skills to the test in our firelighting session.

After scoffing down their homemade pizza and wedges for dinner, they have enjoyed a chilled evening playing games and watching a movie along with a hot chocolate and a selection of nibbles. They are now all tucked up in bed and (hopefully!!) about to have a much needed sleep.

We will be arriving back to school tomorrow afternoon and we are looking forward to seeing you all (with all their dirty washing...) at our classroom door at 3.15.
