The Eco Council would like to challenge families to take part in "Cut Your Carbon" during the month of November. This is a carbon-cutting challenge encouraging young people and their families to complete six simple actions to raise awareness and reduce their carbon footprint. Children from years 1-6 will be provided with the following checklist as a 2Do on Purple Mash:

This can either be filled in on Purple Mash or printed out (please let us know if you would like a paper copy). Children will receive 2 ruby gems for each item ticked.

This week, in school, we are focussing on Meal Plan-et. For this challenge, you need to meal plan to reduce food waste for one week. Research suggests that the average person wastes 95kg of food per year! At each stage of the life-cycle of wasted food, from production to rotting at landfill, carbon is produced. Plan your meals, shop smart, and waste less — it’s good for the planet and your wallet!
